MCHS Cheerleaders renting spots for 400 Mile Yard Sale

The Marshall County High School Cheerleaders will be renting spots in the high school parking lot during the Hwy 68 – 400 Mile Yard sale on June 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Four days of rental for only $45 or $15 per day. If you would rather not be involved with the yard sale but have items to get rid of, the cheerleaders will have a booth that you can donate your items to. Revival at Community Chapel Church

Marshall Co. Football Alumni Golf Scramble

May 25:  The Marshall County Football Alumni will hold a golf scramble on Thursday, May 25 at the Calvert City country Club. A meal will begin at 12:00 noon followed by the scramble beginning at 1:00 p.m. Cost is $50 per player or $200 per team and this includes the meal, entry fee, and cart. Prizes will be awarded for best 4-man team, longest drive and closest to the pin. All money raised will go towards the Marshall County Football Alumni Association. Spring Fling Craft Fair fundraiser

May 25-26:  Save the date for the Spring Fling Craft Fair-May 25th & 26th.   Shop and find terrific items from local vendors and support the Pat and Bobby Cole Scholarship fund for young ladies attending and graduating from high school in Marshall County and home school high school programs. The Marshall County Republican Women will present these scholarships, in June, at their evening meeting.
Come Visit, Shop and Support this scholarship fundraiser.  Find Artwork, “Fairy garden” items, Decorative wood signs, Handcrafted soaps, jewelry and clothing items, Classic embroidered items, Cabbage Patch and American Girl doll clothing and accessories, and Leather bracelet cuffs.  Tupperware and Mary Kay products also available and so much more.  For the first time this year we’ll offer a high quality “White Elephant” table.
Craft fair location is The Woodman of the World building 1005 Poplar St., Benton, Ky 42025.   Doors open daily at 10:00 a.m. and close at 4:00 pm.  All vendor fees are supporting the Pat and Bobby Cole Scholarship Fund

Adam & the H-Bombs to perform at Calvert City Memorial Park

May 27:  Enjoy the weekend Kick-Off of the Saturday Summer Nights in Calvert City’s Memorial Park, May 27. This concert will feature “Adam & the H Bombs” Band on stage from 6 – 9 p.m. Help spread the word and enjoy great entertainment in Calvert City’s great parks.

Honoring Veterans at Starks and Union Ridge cemeteries

May 29:  American Legion Post 236 is honoring Veterans buried at two Marshall County cemeteries on May 29,2017. We will be at Starks Cemetery at 1:30Pp.m. and at Union Ridge Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Everyone who has Veterans buried is welcome to attend.

Glow Run/Walk 5K

June 2:  Kentucky Care presents a Free Glow Run/Walk 5K for the Community on June 2, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Bob Noble Park, located at 2801 Park Avenue in Paducah. The first 50 registered runners will receive a free t-shirt. All attendees will receive a gift bag. Glow sticks and healthy treats will be provided. Grand Rivers Cruise-Ins Monthly Car Shows

June 10:  Join us in Grand Rivers for the 2017 Bluegrass Productions Top Gun Car Show Series Cruise-In events. The Cruise-In events will take place at Little Lake Park in Grand Rivers the second Saturday of each month, April through September, 2017. The Cruise-Ins are open to all cars, trucks, tractors and motorcycles. This is a free event with no charge to attendees or cars. All makes, models and years of any kind are welcome to join in the fun. The day will include entertainment, music and wholesome fun for the entire family. The Cruise-Ins start at 4pm and continue until 9pm. The Grand Rivers Tourism Commission is a sponsor for the events.

Marshall County Retired Teachers meeting

June 13:  Marshall County Retired Teachers will meet next on June 13, at 10:00 a.m. in the Benton branch of the Marshall County Library. All retired teachers and especially this year’s newly retired teachers are invited to attend. Every Monday:  Marshall County Toastmasters meeting is every Monday evening at the Quality Inn and Suites in Draffenville at 6:45. Toastmasters goal is to provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. YOU can learn to speak in public with confidence through evaluations and encouragement from experienced speakers. Awana Clubs is a fun club and fellowship time for children. Join any time after school starts back. Awana is an exciting children’s club for children 2 years old through 6th grade and meets every Wednesday night during the school year.

Adult Technology Classes at MC Library

Marshall County Public Library offers adult computer classes on the fourth Tuesday and Wednesday of the month at their Benton branch. Intro to Computers is offered every month, while the topic for the other class varies from month to month.   Pre-registration is required for all adult tech classes at the library. Lourdes providing free monthly Advance Directives seminar

June 7:  Lourdes will offer a free monthly Advance Directives Seminar in the Heritage Room on the first floor of Lourdes Hospital. The seminar will be from 2 – 3:30 p.m. Advance Directives documents your wishes concerning medical treatments at the end of life. This seminar will help answer questions, clarify concerns related to Advance Directives and also help you complete your living will and have it documented in your medical records. This monthly seminar is free and open to anyone who is 18 years of age and older and will be held on the first Wednesday of the month. For more information, call 270-444-2834.
