Thousands of people packed the streets of Calvert City for AmeriBration Saturday. The event drew a bustling crowd to all three city parks. Most of the main events where held at Memorial Park, but a huge car show was held at Doctor’s Park (formerly North Park) and a disc golf tournament was held at the Old Park. Rain caused flash flooding in Memorial Park on Friday afternoon but the area was fully in use on Saturday.
AmeriBration’s primary sponsoring organization Calvert Area Development Association along with the City of Calvert City hosted the Fourth of July celebration for the 26th consecutive year this year. The event has grown from a small event behind city hall to utilizing all three city parks this year and continues to provide one of the largest fireworks programs in the region.
